What? A dog in a soft skills workshop?

I get a lot of questions on my offer with Guus.

❇ Why Bring a Dog to a Workshop?
Including Guus in our sessions adds an invaluable dimension. A dog’s presence makes the atmosphere relaxed, which helps participants feel at ease and more open. Interacting with Guus acts as a mirror, making communication patterns and behavior more visible, and it’s easier to address these insights for effective team collaboration.

❇ Why Guus?
Guus, my adopted Frisian Water Dog, is naturally social, empathetic, and known for his intelligence. Frisian Water Dogs are playful and adaptable, and Guus’s calm demeanor helps participants engage openly in personal and team development sessions. He loves learning and collaborating, making him the ideal partner for interactive, dog-assisted workshops.

❇ Practical Considerations when a dog enters the building
– Dogs allowed in the building
– Access to a garden or outdoor area for walks
– Space for a crate in the training room or an adjacent room—possibly with a colleague
– Access to the workshop space a few hours prior to allow Guus to acclimate

⚡ If the dog’s well-being is at risk, the workshop may proceed without the dog.

❇ Why Learning Journey?

With certification in Dog-Assisted Interactions from Odisee and years of experience with animals through vzw Beestig Bezig, I bring a compassionate, professional approach. Guus, my third adopted shelter dog, embodies my commitment to second chances and learning through empathy.
